Went to church, balanced my business accounts, cut the grass. On the phone a twice trying to keep my neighbor who's now in rehab from going over the edge.

Grilled filet steaks for dinner and Baby Doll made perogies. She made me this card.

I've been wanting to watch Ford v. Ferrari for a long time so paid the $5 to Prime Video to see it. About 35 seconds into the movie the TV did this:

Well, the wife is calling you 'Chief'. Did you ever get your grandkid trained to? IIRC, that was a goal of yours.

My experience is kids usually call a grandpa what they can pronounce at the time and it sticks.

Baby Doll and our son do video chats with our grandson daily. If I venture into the picture he shouts "Chief!" If I'm not around he asks "Chief's cars"- wants to see the TBird. He won't turn two until next month.

A friend of mine, a Republican, sat next to him on a plane once. Business class of course. They had a friendly conversation.

I've pictured myself in that situation. I'd make pleasant conversation. Discuss the economy and that I'm nearly certain that the dollar will collapse. I'd like to hear his version.

He has great taste. You T-bird is your most interesting vehicle. When I was 2 my dad bought a brand new '63 VW Bug, red with a cloth sun roof. I loved that car. A friend of his had a '60 or '61 Chrysler 300F or 300G convertible with the swivel seats and dual radio antennas on the fins. That car was badass.

I don't see you as a chief, but I'm not family. More power to you, gramps!

I took that car to an invite-only car show held during an air show a few years back. There were some unbelievable cars there, and I got a good view of all 20 or so. When I got back to mine a kid, maybe 15 or 16, was just staring at the Big White 'Bird. I asked him what he was thinking, and he told me that the car was the most beautiful thing that he had every seen.

Not the first or last time that a similar thing has happened with that car and kids of that age. I like to think that I am keeping the hobby alive.

Back when I was that age I lived a block from the town retail district, and our street was a sort-of respite from the parking lots, so got to see a lot of cars that people cared about. Mostly new cars of that day; the bubble back 1st generation Plymouth Barracuda, 1st generation Dodge Charger, then some incredible Mustangs. Also the occasional "old" car, something with the spring steel bumpers. Then some relatively exotic cars, like like the Citroen DS.

Friend knows him....he's an ass wipe she said
