Default So I ordered a package that was delivered by FedEx

They have an easy online tracking, which is nice. So right off the bat, it's going to be delivered a day late. No problem, I'll live. So I check and see that my package HAS arrived! Nice. Even has a picture of my package on a front porch. Except, it's not MY front porch, but it looks like my subdivision, many of us have the same style brick front porches. I check my street, and the two adjoining streets, but don't see any porch decorated with the same kind of flower pot, etc.

Oh well, figure out how to call them and notify them of the mis-delivery. While I'm on hold.....BANG, Bang! Hard door knock. It's the FedEx guy with my package. Great, I'm satisfied. I just wonder now, did I get a pic of someone else's package at their door, or did the delivery guy figure out he dropped it at the wrong place, retrieved it and brought it to me.

Also possible he dropped it, took the pic, THEN figured out it wasn't the right house, recovered it, then brought it to me. We may never, never know.

But all's well that ends well, I suppose. No complaints. Another Wednesday, another problem solved.

FedEx sucks! I hate when I order something on line and it come via FedEx. I wish the sellers would give you a choice. I have much better luck with UPS.

Something to remember when you get a delivery, you’re not their customer, the shipper is…they couldn’t care less whether you’re satisfied.

Ha, that happened to me also & I went walking & found the house porch in the delivery picture .

They were weekender neighbors & I saw that they had a security camera & I didnt want to look like
a porch pirate , so I took out my DL & held it & the package up toward the camera & said ,
"I'm your neighbor & my package was mis-delivered to your house" .

FedEx is "da-bomb" like this because the driver's make up for their own, and sometimes others', mistakes.

I ordered a control board for my boiler (which also heats my water) next day. Almost $100 because I "had to have." All my mail is delivered to a local pack-n-ship. The seller put the wrong name and mailbox number on the package, and therefore my buddy Dave refused it, thinking that it obviously had to be someone else who ordered it.

I got notice of delivery so immediately went to pick up my package. Dave told me what he had done. Then he got on the phone to the Fed-Ex guy, and FedEx came back two hours later on his return run.

The problem stems from being in the gifted programs and skipping a few grades.

Our subdivision has 3 streets, parallel one behind the other with the same address numbers on each home on each street. Thing is with 3 completely different street names.

It's a weekly thing of everyone getting the others mail. 4-5 years ago, we all got a mailer from the local postal center telling everyone of the proper way to complain.

Apparently, someone wrote a letter and stuck it in the outgoing mail slot at the community mail boxes complaining of the ignorant, illiterate stupid ass driver that cannot seem to differentiate between street names and numbers.

When my wife read the letter, she immediately thought I was responsible.

If you think back to even 10 years ago we are so spoiled its ridiculous.
Order something and wait 4-7 days (if you're lucky) to find out its the wrong thing or broken. Now I've ordered things and had them from 4 hours to 2 days (in rare, rare cases). Most times its the next day.

Most city slickers enjoy this level of service. Us here in flyover country, not so much. Most stuff is five or six days. I was amazed at my next day got here.

Still, your point is valid. Heck, go back 40 years.
1. See an add for a catalog in a magazine. Mail in a request for a catalog.
2. Two weeks later receive the catalog. Look through to see what you want. Fill out the order forem, write a check and sent them in the mail.
3. 4-6 weeks later receive your item.

FedEx sucks ass. I have a 350 pound concrete planter with 5" high house numbers cast into it, next to my mailbox which has my house numbers on both sides and they (and others) still can't find me.

Some time ago some medical people stopped at my house, looking for my elderly neighbors who are maybe 1/2 mile and several houses away.

I asked them if they didn't see my numbers by the road.

They said "Yes," but they were going by their Nav and it led them here. WTF, use your fucking heads a little bit.

Maybe the homeowner knows his number better than some electronic gizmo.

UPS? Zero issues going back years, before I even had the planter.

A common problem among the post-Boomer generations. The same people who cannot make change without their cash registers telling them how much change to give cannot navigate without a GPS navigation system.

We have had customers shit their pants if provided with a service loaner that did not have GPS.
