Well the millennials have changed the meanings of words and phrases for some reason. Probably because they don't work and get bored playing games in their mom's basement.

The old "ft-lbs" is now "lb-ft."

The old movie "previews" are now "trailers."

And apparently "flat" paint is now something else.

Flat paint is dull, no shine at all, like primer.

YW.

Mine was one of them. The C6 generation was very popular in black, ESPECIALLY the Z06, like both of mine.

I think everyone would understand what a "black" car is without any added tags.

I don't think people would assume you're buying a car with flat paint, only primered, or one that was wet sanded but never finish coated.

As with all things with daughters, dad is the one paying or fixing it.

She is now in shitcargo, with dood, knew she was leaving six months ago, ignored getting it ready for sale.
I still need a new key fob, floormats and front seat skins, all which will be netted down from sale proceeds.

I have spent the past week waxing, cleaning, shining, etc... one helluva workout, but I like this stuff.

That would be gloss black vs metallic black. Flat is completely different (zero shine).

I owned a black 2009 vert and a black 2012 vert. Enjoyed driving them both with top down in my younger years, but now I prefer a quiet ride just cruising with music playing.

Driving through the mountains and dessert in Northern California was a blast with the top down. I wouldn’t have bought convertibles if I lived in a city.

The California Duster kept the dust off with little effort.

“Flat” when it comes to paint has a specific connotation which denotes non-glossy. Think military vehicles such as tanks and HUMVs. There aren’t very many civilian cars that come with flat paint schemes, although I have seen some wrapped cars that way.

I have owned two C7. One a vert and the other a coupe. I much preferred the coupe, not only for the looks but also a quieter ride. But both are cool Vettes, especially in black.

I’ve owned 5 Corvette’s. Two were convertibles. I prefer the vert. I actually like the look of the convertibles with the top up. Weird I know.

I've had the hardtop on my '61 for the past 5 or 6 years. Like the car's looks better and it keeps the sun off my head. Click image for larger version

Probably why I also like the C5 FRC. I have never been a fan of the bubble back window on the coupes. Also why I like the 68-77 C3 coupe as far as coupes go.

Of my 7 Vettes 3 were Verts. That was 3 of the last 4 bought, the only reason it was not 4 was that year the Z06 did not come as a Vert.
