A little more levity:

I was never blessed with children but if any of my Labs did this, I would forgive them just before I called the Networks!

I always think about your car as maybe my next one!

Dad is a doormat.
The kid might feel bad, but that's it. Dad, like always, will take care of it for him. No lessons learned here, IMO.
Jim made him choose between the hammer or the road. He chose the hammer. His fingers will be healed inside of 2 months!

A Marine who was under my supervision destroyed his father's 1995 Polo Green Corvette. He told us once all logistics, etc., were done, his father woke him up the next morning, physically kicked him out of the house, and disowned him.

Well, I happen to personally know Jim.

I'm pretty sure the boy will feel this for a good long time.

........

some of you guys are idiots; the consequence, is he will never drive one of my Vettes again. He can buy his own. Trust me, that is going to be a bitch when this one is made better than before.............I'm not going to cut my nose off to spite my own face.........I want it back on the road, so I can drive it. He will have a bill when it is all said and done, and he has already told me, he expects that.

One of my car buddies had a cherry 65 426 wedge powered Plymouth Fury.

He got the car a couple years after graduating high school.(63)

His son was told the only way you get to drive this car is if the garage is on fire and then only far enough to make it safe. He had no problem with the kid driving their other two DDs.

I lost track of him about 5 years ago and to the best of my knowledge at that time the son had never drove it.

My son turned out very well. He wasn't much trouble as a teen at all but he had his moments on a much lower level.

He grew up with his mom, lived about an hour away and we all got along fine. Well, I bought him his first car. A used Nissan 300zx. Not bad for a first car. I told him nobody works on it but me and you keep it clean! That was all I asked.

While in college at UNM he would drive up and every couple weeks and on a specific day, I would go over and get the car, put gas in it and check it out, then leave it back in the parking lot before his daily classes ended.

It was starting to turn into a garbage can. I warned him. Well, one day he called up and asked where I put the car. Simply said, I have it and going to clean it out.

Well he was now concerned how to get home. Told him to call his mom for a ride. So after 2 weeks of his mother driving 70 miles round trip every day and pissing her off to no end, I brought it back to the parking lot.

Never had a problem again.

Sounds like you were a Republican then. You valued accountability and responsibility.

His liberal Jewish wife tells him who to vote for. From his posts it’s apparent that she wears the pants. Maybe those iron bars on the windows are to keep him from escaping.

So sorry to see this. Both my kids have never had an interest in driving my Corvettes. Probably because they lost the ability to use a clutch. lol

BUT…. If I gave permission to use it, I’m the one taking the risk it comes back in one piece. It’s going to take a while to get over losing a car you put so much into, but at least it did protect what was inside of it.

Still do, nothing has changed. I also never had to beat my kid to get the point across.

I vote my conscience, not the party line. If I don't care for someone, they're not getting my support just because I may be on their designated side which is why I had switched to an Independant.

Unfortunately for me, this next time around, I'm not sure how this will play out.

I have a nice 82. It's not the fastest around but it gets looks just by a slow cruise in a parking lot. No need to "get on it." I know what it can do and leaves people to wonder. If I did, then there would be nothing more.

Kind of like a well-developed woman. It's more tantalizing to conceal than reveal. I could keep on wondering what was underneath but If I did, then the thrill is gone.

and therein lies the problem........if after the train wreck that has occupied the white house, these last few years, you can't figure this out.........probably, no not even probably, by far the most simple choice the human brain has ever been faced with, since the dawn of man, then one has to wonder how you have survived at all thus far.

Well, after all, the child-sniffing pedophile did have trannies flashing their fake tits on the White House lawn. We never had that level of "decency" from prior administrations. I can see being on the fence.
