I think I've replaced the wiper blades twice. Still on original tires & brakes (even after towing a 7K lb RV for 3 years), but finally had to replace the OE battery last fall. Stupid POS truck.

Considering replacing the batteries (there are two) just from experience the Florida heat seems to cook batteries. |

It's fast, no doubt about it. A little squirrely but that's probably more due to my driving skills than the car. It just wasn't as enjoyable as I thought it would be.
By comparison, I drove a 2023 Challenger Hellcat Redeye wide body that was just an all out beast, just don't turn. The thing is a blast to drive and feels more stable, probably due to it's higher weight and wider stance. I even like the interior more. I wouldn't want to daily drive either one but I would rather drive the Challenger given the choice. |

My factory tires have over 65K miles on them. Still plenty of tread, but with over 7 years on them, they're about to age out (no cracks visible yet). If I was still towing the camper, I'd think about replacing them with LT tires, but with the trailer gone I'll probably stick with the OEM PC-rated Wranglers. They've been good to me, so no incentive to change.

My daily driver and truck that sits outside, yes. My garage queens that rarely see rain: once/ year. All the glass on my classics is original.

Somewhere out there, Rotor cracks a smile and knows he's made a difference. Of course, to really win his approval, I think you have to demonstrate irrational hatred of Canadians, so there's that.

All those high horsepower cars are terrible on the street but the GT500 seems to be the worse. I think the convertibles of most Mustangs were great looking but their prices have really been driven up, I'd rather buy a used last model Corvette for cheaper. I'd rather have a C7 vert over a C8. |

Not really. Cold is harder on them. Batteries are just shitty quality these days, like most other things.

I saw this car in person at the 1968 Oakland Roadster show. I also had the model kit, which I built. This was one year after the Royal Guardsman had their hit with Snoopy and the Red Baron. (1967) Which was the same year Bonnie and Clyde came out (the movie) and, IIRC, the same year (1968) The Yellow Submarine movie came out, which I saw in SF at a theater.
The Sizzlin' Sixties. Hell Yes. |

At first I thought "nitpicky", but you make a valid distinction. About the only thing the Detroit 3 has done consistently well is their trucks. They've built a few cars/SUVs that have been pretty reliable, but not as consistently as most Asian builders. As to your experiences with BMW & M-B, I'd say you've been pretty fortunate - initial quality is typically way up there, but long-term reliability is sketchy.

I go by mileage only. Sometimes in some of my cars, it's 4 or 5 years. Time doesn't hurt oil. Contamination from cold start ups to impress friends does. Drive your car every time you start it, and oil will last it's full mileage rating.
People who dump fresh oil after a year who only drove 800 mor 1500 miles are throwing money away for a false sense of do-goodery. |
