Tipping process sucks, so does the us restaurant industry. Tippees get paid like $2 an hour and have to pretend to like you to receive your supplement to their “income” so they can feed hungry bellies. Maybe pay an actual living wage?
Outside the us, there’s no line for credit card bills for “gratuity”, you just sign and go. They don’t need patron help. If you think the service was exceptional, throw a buck or two (equivalent) on the table on the way out.
Blame the industry, not the workers scrimping and saving every penny. Think restaurant owners want change? Yeah, no.
