US Army, one month and one day......August '66, Ft. Bragg, I think......
I tried to enlist in all 3 branches, Navy/AF rejected me on medical crap, Army surprisingly took me in.....they either goofed, OR needed me for the useless Vietnam crap.....
I have an extra vert in my lo back spondalytis L6 only supposed to have 5 of them......
lasted about 2 weeks and so one AM, off to the hospital instead of formation, bunks had no springs, being left over from WW2, and so that was all it took.....plus other stuff of course......
Still think I could have done AF or Navy without much issues, except for the same phys-ed crap the Army did......
a decent FLAT bunk, and a bit less on the gung-ho training, and I could have been fixing electronic gear, same thing as civilain TV sets I went back to....
P&D crews did most all of the heave lifting in the TV trade.....I was an inside final answer head repair tech for almost 20 years.....
